Terms of service

Effective 2026-08-19. Using the site or API means you accept these terms.

The service

LatestIn indexes public news coverage: clustered events, facts with citations, and verbatim quotes with attribution and source links. Quotes and facts are short excerpts that point back to the original reporting; the underlying articles belong to their publishers, and every record links to its sources.

The API

API keys are personal. Keep yours secret, do not share it, and stay within your tier's daily limit. You may build products on API data if you keep source links intact and do not misrepresent quotes or attribution. Bulk resale of the raw dataset is not permitted without a written agreement. We may revoke keys that abuse the service, probe for vulnerabilities, or evade rate limits.

Accuracy

Quotes are verified verbatim against their sources and facts carry citations, but news is messy and sources can be wrong. The service is provided as is, without warranties. Verify against the cited sources before relying on anything here. See the methodology for how verification works and how to report errors.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to harass people, to fabricate or misattribute statements, or to break the law. Do not scrape the site in ways that degrade it; the API exists for programmatic access.

Liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, LatestIn is not liable for indirect or consequential damages from using the service. Our total liability is capped at what you paid us in the last twelve months.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the effective date above changes with them. Material changes to API terms will be noted on the developer page. Questions: [email protected].
