Two killed after woman drives through Kansas soccer game
The second victim was 35-year-old Nicholas Schafer.
The driver was released without charges by the Wichita police department on Sunday, pending further investigation and toxicology tests.
The two victims who died were residents of McPherson, Kansas, and were unrelated.
“We are also thinking about those who were injured, their loved ones and everyone who witnessed what happened. We know this tragedy has affected many people throughout our community, and we want those families to know they are not alone.”

Vehicle drives onto youth soccer field in Wichita, Kansas, killing two and injuring others
Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly said she was monitoring the situation and had offered state resources to the mayor.
It is unclear whether the incident was intentional.
The driver was a 34-year-old woman from Garden City, Kansas.
“I didn’t know what was going on – just that people were being hit. I’m pretty sure I probably screamed, but, absolutely, just pure panic was going through me.”
