US and Russia compete for share of India's energy market
The Russia Sanctions bill proposing up to a 100% levy on countries buying Russian energy supplies will move to the U.S. House for final approval in September.
Between April and July, Russian exports to India rose nearly 60% from the previous year.
In August last year, Washington imposed a 25% tariff on imports from India as a penalty for buying Russian oil and revoked them in February.
