Daylight saving time fight: House GOP presses Senate
Trump publicly criticized Senator Tom Cotton on Saturday and shared Cotton's cell phone number.
House Majority Leader Steve Scalise said the Senate should take up the Sunshine Protection Act after House Republicans passed it.
Senator Katie Britt said she anticipated dialogue and debate on the issue when the Senate returns, given the president's energy around it.
“President Trump has been pushing to make daylight saving time permanent, and House Republicans delivered by overwhelmingly passing the Sunshine Protection Act. It's a commonsense change and the Senate should take it up,”
STEVE SCALISE
