Emergency slide deploys on Qatari-gifted Air Force One ahead of Trump's Dallas trip
The Qatari-gifted Air Force One is a Boeing 747, approximately 14 years old, worth $400 million.
Trump said the slide check would take about 15 minutes.
The slide was later removed from the plane and hauled away on the back of a pickup truck before the plane departed for Dallas.
Trump expected to use Qatari jet for overseas travel despite security questions
The jet was converted for presidential use earlier in Trump's term after the two custom-built Boeing aircraft intended to serve as Air Force One were delayed for years.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent were aboard the original flight that served as a decoy during Trump's July trip in Turkey.
The episode of Trump's secret flight out of Turkey has been dramatized in a new Netflix mini-documentary.
