Senate Democrats seek answers from Trump-affiliated companies on IRS settlement
The settlement was announced months after Trump, two of his sons, and the Trump Organization accused the IRS and Treasury Department of unlawfully allowing a government contractor to leak tax returns to media outlets in 2020.
Under the settlement dated May 19, the Justice Department said the IRS and Treasury Department are forever barred from pursuing any claims arising from tax returns filed before the settlement took effect.
According to recent financial disclosures, the president earned more than a billion dollars from cryptocurrency ventures alone last year.
