Tropical Storm Lala threatens rare hurricane landfall on Hawaii's Big Island

Kauai saw Hurricane Iniki make landfall as a Category 4 hurricane in 1992.

The National Hurricane Center said Lala should be at hurricane strength by the time it approaches the Big Island Saturday.

If Lala makes landfall on the Big Island, it would be the first hurricane to hit the island since 1871.
