Texas reports first equine New World screwworm infection
A horse in Presidio County, Texas has been infected with the New World screwworm.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued a disaster proclamation in June to mobilize state resources toward coping with the rising screwworm presence.
This is the first US equine infection of the New World screwworm.
