Taylor Farms recalls jalapeño products over salmonella risk

At least 36 people were hospitalized due to the Salmonella outbreak linked to Coast Citrus Distributors jalapeños.

The recalled jalapeños from Coast Citrus Distributors were linked to a Salmonella outbreak that infected at least 345 people across 27 states.

The FDA and CDC announced the Salmonella outbreak on Wednesday, August 5, and identified Coast Citrus Distributors as the source of suspect jalapeños.

USDA links jalapeño-containing meat products to salmonella outbreak

Federal officials issued a public health alert for meat products containing jalapeños that may be linked to a salmonella outbreak.

The outbreak was linked to jalapeño peppers grown in Sinaloa, Mexico, and distributed by Coast Citrus Distributors.

As of August 5, the salmonella outbreak had sickened at least 345 people, 36 of whom were hospitalized.
