Armed police begin patrols in Sydney after Bondi Beach attack
The Armed Response Command (ARC) involves specially trained officers carrying long-arm rifles in busy tourist areas.
New South Wales police say the officers will patrol major events like sports matches and places of worship to prevent and respond to serious threats.
ARC is designed to be highly visible across Sydney with officers driving specialist vehicles and carrying rifles.
