Gov. Hochul plans to opt New York into federal school choice program, drawing union opposition
Altfield said the program does not take money out of state budgets or state public school resources.
The protesting coalition includes the UFT, the New York State Union of Teachers (NYSUT), and the American Federation of Teachers (AFT).
