The flooding occurred in the northern Rasuwa district along the border with Tibet at around 8:30 a.m. local time on Wednesday.

A large section of glacier broke away above the Lhende river in Tibet at about 8:40am local time on Wednesday.
The ice and rock avalanche struck the river about 20km northeast of the Rasuwagadhi border crossing.
