The local coroner said authorities were trying to identify the deceased person and determine the manner and cause of death.
The National Park Service said there did not appear to be anything suspicious about the body.
Lake Mead provides water storage on the Colorado River, which supplies water to about 40 million people across seven states, tribal nations, and Mexico.
