Nineteen-year-old Karmelo Anthony was convicted in June of stabbing and killing 17-year-old Austin Metcalf at a Frisco track meet and was sentenced to 35 years in prison.
Former lead defense attorney Mike Howard acknowledged under cross-examination that the lawyers never expressly agreed on whether a testifying defendant was covered by the oral agreement.
Lead prosecutor Bill Wirskye disputed that the agreement was broken.
