id Software reportedly lays off roughly half its staff
id Software's most recent release is 2025's Doom: The Dark Ages.
id Software was acquired by ZeniMax in 2009, and ZeniMax was then purchased by Xbox in 2021.
The layoffs from Xbox's restructuring have impacted Bethesda/ZeniMax as a whole, including Arkane Studios being spun off from the company entirely.
