Yemen's army says it recaptured key territory from Houthis

Medical sources in Houthi-controlled areas reported that at least 42 fighters had been killed.

The Houthi rebel group declared a naval blockade against Saudi Arabia in July.

Several civilians were killed and others injured in a ballistic missile attack that hit a restaurant in the coastal city of al-Makha, according to state-run Saba TV.

Houthi fighters clash with Yemeni government forces in southwest

The Army Media Centre said more than 18 Houthi fighters were killed and others wounded or captured in clashes on Thursday.

Houthi fighters and Yemeni government forces are engaged in clashes across several fronts west of Taiz province.

A field officer in al-Makha told AFP that his men thwarted an attack with two booby-trapped boats that exploded near the port.

“But we have reports from Yemeni government officials that they have regained control of some of the areas that fell under Houthi control.”

Yemen's Houthis report attack on Saudi ship

The Houthis claimed an attack on a Saudi oil tanker off the port city of Yanbu in the Red Sea.

A Houthi military spokesperson said a vessel belonging to Saudi national shipping company Bahri was targeted off the coast of Yanbu with a ballistic missile.

The Houthis said the attack was part of the implementation of the Armed Forces' decision to ban maritime navigation by the Saudi enemy.

Closure of Yemen's Al-Makha Port Disrupts Trade and Livelihoods

Al-Makha port director Abdulmalik Al-Sharabi stated that more than 1,500 port workers lost their jobs, 16 were killed, and 22 were injured as a result of Houthi attacks.

Al-Makha port was closed between 2015 and 2021.

On August 9, Houthi attacks on al-Makha port killed at least seven people.
