Texas floods kill at least two, hundreds rescued near Camp Mystic region
State crews rescued more than 270 people in response to the flooding.
Governor Greg Abbott issued a major disaster declaration for 28 counties in the region on Friday.
More than 80 people were evacuated from riverside campgrounds before floodwater reached dangerous levels.
“But the priority was to get out. And we’re glad we did, because the people that got back immediately after that, maybe 20 minutes later, the water had risen maybe another 10 feet.”
