Australia hikes interest rates to 18-year high
The RBA said the delayed return to the inflation target was due to higher fuel and other commodity prices, as well as AI-related investment driving rapid growth in prices for technology-related goods.
The RBA's rate hike was in line with expectations from economists polled by Reuters.
Australia's CPI in September was up from 4% in August and marked its highest level since March.
