Israeli Soldiers Participate in Sydney Marathon Amid Local Protests
Australian aid worker Zomi Frankcom and six colleagues were killed when Israeli soldiers hit a World Central Kitchen convoy with three drone strikes in Gaza in April 2024.
Marathon delegation member Roy Oryon served as a deputy company commander in the Golani Brigade's 13th Battalion.
Protesters gathered along the Sydney Marathon course to demonstrate against the participation of Israeli soldiers.

Gobena's winning time broke the Sydney Marathon course record by almost one and a half minutes.
