Luke Bronin defeats Rep. John Larson in Connecticut 1st District primary
Bronin is the heavy favorite in November's general election in the 1st District, which is the bluest of Connecticut's five U.S. House seats.
The other candidates, Jillian Gilchrest and Ruth Fortune, combined for about 11.8% of the votes at 10 p.m.
Larson won the open House seat in 1998 and had not faced a primary challenge since.
