Boorman says her childhood experience of negative coaching shaped her philosophy of never wanting another child to feel the same way.

“So many times I was told that I wouldn’t be successful because I was too nice. I was like: ‘Well, then I guess I’m not going to be successful by your metrics, your standard, your qualifier for success’. For me, success is having happy, healthy athletes who want to put their children in gymnastics because they have such a good experience.”
