Apple To Release Streaming Service, Reports Reuters
For years now it’s been rumored that Apple is looking to release a streaming service, and now reported by Reuters it appears the rumors are about to come to fruition. Reuters reports that Apple is in talks with Epix, to stream content from media giants. Epix is a Media company backed by three of the largest Film companies, LionsGate, MGM and Paramount Pictures. There is one catch though, Apple currently has a deal with streaming giant Netflix. The contract with Netflix expires on September 1st however. So will we see this come to fruition? We think so, possibly later this year in conjunction with an Apple Branded TV.
Apple currently has the Apple TV which is a set top box, that streams iTunes and Netflix content. But it’s been rumored for years now that Apple would release their own TV, I mean, they already have the technology too; They offer LED Thunderbolt displays (Computer monitors). So it wouldn’t be a big surprise if they did announce a TV, and it’s a safe bet that Apple fanboys would flock to a TV.
